LUXMI CRUZ FAMILY TRUST DONATES TO
CHILDREN IN PRISON
PROJECT
Miami, Florida
January 27, 2006
A check for $1,000 was recently received from the Luxmi Cruz Family Trust from Arizona to be used for
Philippine-based projects, particularly to help the Children-In-Conflict-With-The-Law (CICL).
"The poor children and families in the Philippines really need help," says Lila S. Lee, who was
instrumental in soliciting the donation from her family. Ms. Lee is an active member of the NANAY Advisory
Board, and past president of the Philippine Charities Foundation, also based in Miami, Florida.
Her family has also been active in helping the Aetas and indiginous populations in Boracay.
The Luxmi Trust donation is temporarily deposited to the NANAY Philippine Assistance Project sub-account
in Florida, and will be transferred to the ACE International-Philippines account to be used for projects that
will help the children in prison, once its official SEC registration is received.
"I am deeply heartened by the positive response that we are getting from concerned individuals and
organizations, and their desire to help the poor children and families in the Philippines," says Dr. Joy
Bruce, who is now in the process of incorporating ACE International-Florida, Inc. as a tax-exempt 501(C)(3)
organization whose mission is to protect the human rights and improve the lives of disadvantaged children
and elders in the Philippines.
In the meantime, the NANAY Philippine Assistance Project Sub-account will serve as venue for directing
tax-deductible donations for the Philippines to ACE International.
In addition to helping the children in prison, ACE International will also address the issues of children and
families affected by toxic waste in US-military bases, children victimized by rape, prostitution and labor
abuses, street children, and elder abuse.
Strategic plans to address these issues will involve legislation lobbying, direct support, housing and
rehabilitation, education, livelihood programs, family values counseling and community outreach.
